New Art Journal: Life Unfolding

I’ve been doing a lot of journaling lately in one way or another but have gotten quite quite fed up with scratching my notes on uninspiring plain notebooks and scrap paper. So I took a little time recently to make myself a new art journal which offers a little more inspiration to get creative.

Life Unfolding

I used one of my photo art designs which I printed on fabric.

Life Unfolding

Paper beads and kebab sticks make an interesting and decorative spine.

Life Unfolding

A few words of inspiration and some beaded and hand stitched embellishing.

Life Unfolding

A creative cover page.

And because there’s often nothing worse than staring at a blank white page, I pre-painted the pages.

Life Unfolding

A little hand stitching on the back and it’s done!

Do you ever finish a project only to think it’s too pretty to use?

I’m trying not to go there.

  1. Linda, This is absolutely beautiful! I also have that problem – too pretty to use syndrome! Thanks for sharing. Love the spine and the cover. Thanks for the inspiration.

Thanks everyone – I’m already working on my first page so I’ll share once it’s finished 🙂

  3. I really like how you have made this journal and especially the spine with skewers and beads. Beautiful and make sure you do use it. treat yourself.

Mostly decorative, although they would act as a rigid support to keep the book stable if it got filled with lots of stuff and became bulky.
